Starlight, Starbright

…is the theme of the new challenge on the CCC blog. and I absolutely knew that I would have to use my wood veneer stars in this context. I found them in a local craft store, which has a surprisingly high selection of wood veneers what I’d have never expected for Graz 🙂

I wanted to use this color combination for my scrapbook layout and I also wanted to style it vintage. So I chose the colors Pistachio Pudding, Certainly Celery (what a fun name *g*), Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant and Summer Starfruit. and of course some gold. I cut 10 project life cards, each 3 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch and 2 of each color and randomly prepared them with some chosen embossing folders and my distress tool. In the end I applied the stars and also some punched out hearts and some of the gold vellum.

For this layout I used:

  • Cardstock in Pistachio Pudding, Certainly Celery, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant and Summer Starfruit
  • 1“ Circle punch
  • Small heart punch
  • Distress tool
  • Gold vellum
  • Golden baker’s twine
  • BigShot
  • Chevron, Distressed Dots and Stripes Embossing folder
  • Dimensionals

Scrapbook Layout Fresh Color Challenge

This layout was a real time-consuming crafting project. Not only paper, but I also chrochetted the flowers and made those super cute and retro honeycomb paper (you’ll find plenty of tutorials on Youtube). I used the SU Creped Filter Paper for that. Maybe I should try to color it next time…The bird cage is the negative of one cut out with my Silhouette and the fabric ribbon as well as the other one is from my decade-old equipment fundus.

I love how the page turned out in the end – of course my little sweet Rosalie had to top the page. If you like to have any details on that, please let me know and/or gift me a comment.

Find other beautiful projects in this color scheme at the fab CCC challenge (and maybe contribute :-))
